Wednesday
Today upon arrival in Alice Springs you will be transferred to your hotel. The remainder of today will be at your leisure.
Accommodation: Doubletree by Hilton Alice Springs - 1 night


Thursday
Depart Alice Springs, stopping at a camel farm, and learn about the impact camels had in opening up Central Australia. There’s also the opportunity to ride one of these ‘ships of the desert’ (own expense). View Atila (Mt. Conner) before arriving at Ayers Rock Resort. This afternoon travel to Kata Tjuta (the Olgas). Marvel at the unique flora and witness a magnificent outback sunset while enjoying sparkling wine.

Friday
Watch the gorgeous sunrise at Uluru, then travel to Kata Tjuta and on to Walpa Gorge. Spend time exploring the gorge and its unusual rock formations. This afternoon join your Driver Guide for a drive around the base of Uluru. Continue to the Kuniya Walk, where you’ll be escorted to the Mutitjulu Waterhole. View ancient rock art and learn about the Aboriginal and European history of Uluru. Visit the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. Late afternoon witness the striking colour changes of Uluru at sunset with nibbles and sparkling wine. After sunset, join us under the stars at our exclusive venue. Enjoy sparkling wine then dine on a menu of steak, lamb sausages, chicken skewers, prawns and a selection of fresh salads and a tasty dessert. There’s time for stargazing too (weather permitting).

Saturday
Depart the resort in total darkness for the short drive to Bruce Munro’s renowned Field of Light installation and wander through the paths surrounding the 50,000 hand-crafted frosted glass spheres. After a warm beverage and watching the sunrise drive through spectacular desert scenery on your way to Kings Canyon Resort. After turning off the Lasseter Highway and on to the Luritja Road your Driver Guide will provide commentary about the surrounding cattle area.

Sunday
Climb to the rim of Kings Canyon for marvellous views of Watarrka National Park or you may wish to explore the boulder-strewn canyon creek bed, an easier, shady walk. This evening you will return to Alice Springs.

Monday
This evening you will be transferred to Alice Springs Train Station where you will board The Ghan and travel by rail from Alice Springs to Darwin in your chosen service of travel. Prepare for a journey of comfort, relaxation and a touch of adventure, as the legendary Ghan carries you into the tropical Top End.

Tuesday
Continue your adventure by making a stop in Katherine this morning, home of the stunning Katherine Gorge and rich in Indigenous history.

Today make the most of your Hop on Hop off pass. Don’t miss a thing aboard the open-top double decker tour of Darwin complemented by an entertaining and informative commentary. This pass allows you the freedom to plan your own itinerary and visit the landmarks and attractions at your own pace. There are 10 stops including Crocosauras Cove, Doctor’s Gully, Cullen Bay Marina, Darwin Military Museum and Waterfront Precinct.

Thursday
Boarding early for the drive to Litchfield National Park you will be entertained by your Driver Guide with tales both tall and true of the history of Australia’s longest highway. The gorgeous, historical town of Batchelor is the gateway to Litchfield National Park. Today, Batchelor’s townsfolk love to host visitors to Litchfield National Park and it’s here that you’ll enjoy morning tea (own expense) at one of their local cafés. View the termite mounds found at Litchfield National Park and the spectacular double waterfall of Florence Falls from a high vantage point, before making your way down the stairs to take a dip in the gorgeous plunge pool. One of the three major waterfalls along the western face of the Tabletop Range is Tolmer Falls. Marvel at the water cascading down into the deep waterhole at the base of the falls, home to several colonies of rare ghost bats and orange horseshoe bats. Included in your tour is lunch at the Litchfield Café. Relax, enjoy the company of your fellow travellers and if you’re ready for another swim, Wangi Falls is the most accessible of rock pools and is a perfect spot to take another dip.
