Welcome to the heart of Australia, where the iconic Red Centre awaits with its mesmerising landscapes & awe-inspiring natural wonders. From a hidden tranquil oasis within ancient rock formations to refreshing swimming spots nestled amidst rugged terrain, these natural gems are sure to leave you enchanted. Join us as we explore these breathtaking locations and dive into the Red Centre's water-filled wonders.

Ormiston Gorge (Kwartatuma)

Ormiston Gorge is the outback’s answer to the beach with sandy banks and the quintessentially Aussie towering gum trees surrounding the still gorge waters. Located in the West MacDonnell National Park, the gorge also contains an interesting variety of native flora and fauna and the Ormiston Pound Walk for a circuit trail exploration of the area.

Ellery Creek Big Hole (Udepata)

Ellery Creek is one of the most popular waterholes to visit in the Red Centre for not only its unique setting between two towering red cliffs, carved by thousands of years of floods, but also for a fantastic outback camping, hiking and swimming experience.

Glen Helen Gorge (Yapalpe)

Glen Helen is yet another beautiful outback gorge, often considered to be one of the most picturesque in the country. Glen Helen campground offers a comfortable camping experience where you can enjoy a cooling dip in the mirror-like water while surrounded by the beauty of the rugged sandstone walls, the local wildlife and views of the West MacDonnell Ranges. Top it off with a cosy campfire under a starry night sky.

Redbank Gorge (Rwetyepme)

Located in the West MacDonnell Ranges, 156kms west of Alice Springs, it is reached by a 1km walk from the car park. Take a refreshing swim in the cold and deep water, accessed from the car park via a 2 kilometre walk along the creek bed or camp here at one of two local camping areas.

Simpsons Gap (Rungutjirpa)

This stunning gap is impressive as towering red cliffs contrast against the permanent green waters below. It is only a short drive from the town centre of Alice Springs and is located on the famous 231 kilometre Larapinta Trail. The gap is purely to admire its rugged beauty however as there is no swimming permitted here.

Garden of Eden

Located in Watarrka National Park, about three hours’ drive from Uluru. Explore the renowned Kings Canyon Rim Walk passing by the domes of the ‘Lost City’ and the Garden of Eden, plus rare plants and panoramic views along the way! The Garden of Eden is a beautiful rockhole surrounded by rare plants, and again, purely for appreciation as there is no swimming permitted in the waterhole.
