ADELAIDE TO DARWIN

1. Adelaide: Your journey commences in Adelaide, a charming city known for its vibrant arts scene, stunning parks, and excellent food and wine. Enjoy some light refreshments before boarding The Ghan for your northbound journey.

2. Flinders Ranges & the Outback: Travellers will witness the dramatic landscapes of the Flinders Ranges. Moving north, The Ghan traverses the Outback, showcasing the red sands, arid plains, and distinctive flora and fauna of this remote region.

3. Marla: Marla provides a delightful sunrise stop on northbound journeys from Adelaide to Darwin. Guests can stretch their legs while savouring a steaming cup of coffee and a bacon and egg roll.

4. Alice Springs: Our first stop in the Northern Territory, Alice Springs is a vibrant outback town offering diverse experiences, including off-road adventures, cultural tours, wildlife encounters, and breathtaking views of stunning landscapes.

5. Katherine: As the train continues its northern journey to Darwin, you can enjoy a stop in Katherine, the gateway to stunning natural attractions, featuring the breathtaking Nitmiluk Gorge, rich Indigenous culture and more.

4. Manguri: After your day in Alice Springs, stop at a remote outback location for an evening experience under the Milky Way.

1. Darwin: Your journey begins early in the morning in Darwin, with a breakfast hosted at the Darwin Convention Centre.

2. Katherine: Later today, you will enjoy a stop in Katherine, the gateway to stunning natural attractions, featuring the breathtaking Nitmiluk Gorge, rich Indigenous culture and more. COOBER PEDY (GHAN EXPEDITION ONLY)

Explore Coober Pedy with a full-day tour, visiting the stunning Serbian Orthodox Church and Umoona Opal Mine. Enjoy an underground lunch at Quest Mine and marvel at the Breakaways’ landscapes. Perhaps you’d like to enjoy an Opal Experience? Alternatively, opt for a scenic flight over the Painted Hills and Lake Eyre. Return to Manguri to take iconic photos of The Ghan.

MARLA (NORTHBOUND ONLY)

Marla offers a scenic sunrise stop on northbound journeys, allowing guests to stretch, enjoy coffee and breakfast, and appreciate the tranquil outback before re-boarding the train for brunch.

MANGURI (SOUTHBOUND ONLY)

Manguri, a charming rail siding near Coober Pedy, offers a unique night-time stop. Guests can enjoy a nightcap by the bonfire, marvelling at the stunning stars in the clear outback sky. This memorable experience adds a special touch to your south-bound journey on The Ghan.
