Brisbane, Queensland

Today you will be transferred to the Brisbane Rail Terminal† to board the Spirit of Queensland. The Spirit of Queensland combines modern seating and entertainment options with the romance of long distance rail travel. The RailBed is a spacious and comfortable seat by day that includes a personal entertainment system, a 240v power point and a USB point. In the evening, the on-board team convert the seat to a lie-flat bed.

This afternoon you will arrive into Cairns, where you will be transferred to your hotel.

Cairns and Thetford Reef

Today you will be transferred from your hotel to the Cairns Cruise Terminal and board the Coral Expedition II. Your cruise includes on board meals and entertainment. Cruise out of Cairns via Trinity Bay, enjoy a scenic view of Port Douglas Village. Arrive at your first exclusive mooring site: cruises alternate between Thetford Reef, Coates Reef, and Nathan Reef. Disembark to enjoy snorkelling or scuba diving over magnificent coral gardens or explore without getting your feet wet on a glass bottom boat tour, view a fish feeding display, and presentation by Marine Biologist. Later enjoy sunset drinks aboard the deserted Sudbury Sand Cay, a virtual deserted island! Back onboard, dine at the Captain’s Welcome Seafood Buffet.

Saturday 19 October
Hinchinbrook Channel and Island Beach BBQ

Cruise the scenic Hinchinbrook Channel, separating Hinchinbrook Island from the mainland. Keep an eye out for wildlife including crocodiles, dolphins, whales, turtles and dugongs and enjoy an interpretive commentary and mangrove tour. Discover a tropical island, take a guided bushwalk, sit down to a gourmet Aussie beach BBQ meal and snorkel and dive over the island’s fringing reef, showcasing a giant clam garden. Kayaking and glass bottom boat tours are available or simply relax on the sandy beach.

Sunday 20 October
Dunk Island Rainforest and Nathan Reef

Rainforest walk on tropical Dunk Island with naturalist guides, look out for the striking electric-blue Ulysses butterfly. This afternoon discover colourful Nathan Reef you can snorkel, SCUBA dive, take a glass bottom boat tour and partake in an interactive marine biology presentation at the onboard display tank.

Monday 21 October
Fitzroy Island and Cairns

Today enjoy idyllic bushwalks and hikes, snorkel over the fringing reef, beachcombing on the white sands of Nudey Beach, plus take advantage of the the resort facilities found here. You will arrive back into Cairns this afternoon where you will disembark and be transferred to your hotel.

Tuesday 22 October
Today is your Kuranda Classic tour, the best way to maximise your Kuranda and Australian Experience, where you’ll get to explore indigenous culture, native wildlife and World Heritage Rainforest all in one day. Wind through tunnels and over bridges on the magnificent Kuranda Scenic Railway journey, passing Stoney Creek and Barron Falls. Wander through Kuranda Village, the picturesque Village in the Rainforest and board a transfer to the award-winning attraction and experience, Rainforestation Nature Park. Enjoy a delicious hot buffet and a wide selection of salads, cheeses and fruits. Join a guided tour of the Koala & Wildlife Park and see crocodiles, wombats, snakes, dingoes and a cassowary.
