We all like to feel special from time to time, and a cruise with Cunard will make you feel just that from start to finish. Whether it’s an iconic transatlantic crossing, world voyage or short two night break from Melbourne to Adelaide your time with Cunard will be one of enrichment and glamour.

Currently consisting of three ships, Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth, all visiting Australia for the 2020/2021 cruise season for the first time in five years with a much anticipated fourth ship to be added to the fleet in 2022. Queen Elizabeth’s three month 2019/2020 Australian season has been underway since December 2019 and consists of cruise itineraries from Melbourne, Adelaide or Sydney, varying in duration from two night sojourns to longer voyages around Australia, Papua New Guinea and New Zealand.

Old world charm, decor and service are evident as soon as you step on board Queen Elizabeth, something that can certainly feel a little lost these days in our current fast-paced, technology reliant society.  This refreshing hit of ambience is instant as you approach the first crew member, every single one white star trained, and there to provide you with impeccable service aided by a 2:1 passenger to crew ratio.

The refinement continues in Queen Elizabeth’s dining and leisure areas.  Deck 9 is home to Lido Restaurant, a more relaxed style buffet available for breakfast, lunch and dinner or late time bites until 10pm. It’s also the level for the gymnasium for the latest exercise equipment, yoga classes, spin classes and even personal training sessions for an additional fee and two separate swimming pool and spa areas – one of which holds the unique ‘Sail Away’ party. A new holistic spa experience can also be found at the Mareel Wellness & Beauty for a range of rejuvenating treatments and beauty services.

Golden Lion on deck 2, is an English style pub to sit back and relax and enjoy some Cunard ales and traditional pub fare. The Yacht Club on deck 10 generally has a DJ or band playing the favourites or your requests if you feel like dancing the night away or the Commodore Club for a quieter retreat and signature cocktails. The renowned Gala Balls, held in the Queens Room, are the highlight of the trip for many dressed in their finest evening gowns and tuxedos all to suit the theme of the night. Here you can also learn to ballroom dance on one of the largest dance floors at sea or enjoy the famed complimentary white glove signature Afternoon Tea. Continue the grandeur at the Royal Court Theatre for West-End calibre productions and for an additional $60, treat yourself to a private theatre box including champagne and strawberries. With two shows each evening to fit in with dinner sittings you can enjoy a range of productions,  watch movies on the screen during the day or attend a special guest lecturer event – a personal insight from experts within their field from astronauts to actors in an incredible up close and personal experience.

For something extra special, Queen Elizabeth, offers the Grills Suite Experience. The epitome of luxury in exclusive suites with balconies, personalised service, private lounge and Queens Grill restaurant for the finest food and wines.

If you are looking for the sense of occasion, the feeling of on board space, the highest quality service and an all-round inspiring, luxurious holiday then cruising with Cunard would be my recommendation, every time.
