In Germany? Expect to sing along with a local Bavarian folk band. The on board swimming pool also converts into an evening cinema showcasing movies pertinent to the region. Each cruise the crew also put together a performance for the passengers which remains a highlight for many! Most meals are included and are otherwise a buffet style breakfast, a range of lunch options from sit down to a relaxed barbecue on the deck and dinner is a 3-course sit down fine dining experience. Beer, wine and soft drinks are also included during lunch and dinner service with one sitting time for each meal time with open seating.
Guided city tours with knowledgeable local guides are offered in each stop and at varied fitness levels, from slow paced to moderate and high, to suit a majority of travellers. This is a huge plus in my opinion with varied fitness levels often common between couples traveling together. For the more adventurous, bikes can be hired from the ship concierge in selected ports giving you the freedom to explore the city at your leisure and on your own terms. Another plus in my book.

itinerary and really something you would be hard pushed to achieve as an
independent traveller. The Splendours of Europe River Cruise from Budapest to
Amsterdam, with regular departures, visits 15 different cities, towns and
villages and boasts several ‘You’re Invited’ experiences including an
incredible hosted home experience in Slovakia. Share afternoon tea with a local
Slovakian family in their home, with an interpreter of course, learn about
their day to day life and their artisan wines made from their backyard. An
absolute highlight of the trip.
