Darwin Harbour offers a perfect setting for a sunset cruise, particularly as the deep pinks and oranges light up the sky above and reflect beautifully off the water below. Also, a perfect vantage point to watch the peaceful twinkling night lights begin along the city’s shoreline and a fitting way to embrace the laid-back Top End life.

With spectacular views from atop and epic ‘is this really happening’ swims below, try Wangi Falls - arguably one of the best-known swimming spots in the Top End, it is renowned for its pristine beauty and size. Two waterfalls cascade over the rocks down to the pool below, surrounded by a lush monsoon rainforest and various walking that let you experience the stunning panoramic views at various lookout points from the top.

Nitmiluk (Katherine Gorge)

Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge is located within amazing Nitmiluk National Park, which spans more than 292,000 hectares. With rugged landscapes, thundering waterfalls and unlimited flora and fauna, Nitmiluk is a haven for adventurers and nature lovers alike. The name Nitmiluk, meaning ‘Cicada Place’, came from the Jawoyn people who are the traditional custodians of the park. The majesty of Nitmiluk National Park, incorporating 13 beautiful gorges, needs to be seen to be believed. And there are several ways to explore this incredible bucket-list experience including on-foot, cruising, by air or canoeing! Tiwi Islands

The Tiwi Islands are 100 kilometres north of Darwin, where the Arafura Sea joins the Timor Sea, with the main two islands being Bathurst and Melville. You will reach the Tiwi Islands via a ferry from Darwin to Bathurst Island. Residents of the islands are predominantly of Aboriginal descent resulting in a rich culture and heritage and thriving arts and craft scene. Here you can immerse yourself in an art session with a local Tiwi artist to create your own masterpiece or observe traditional dance and smoking ceremonies. Fishing is also a significant part of life here, and whether you’re an amateur or seasoned angler, a fishing adventure with a local operator is a fantastic way to enjoy a slice of Tiwi life.
