Whichever level of service you choose to travel in on your Journey Beyond rail journey, it will endeavour to meet and exceed your expectations with all-inclusive sumptuous cuisine, fine wines, warm hospitality and a world of romance. To assist you in making the right decision for your holiday we look at the difference between Gold Service and Platinum Service throughout the Journey Beyond rail experience on either the Ghan, Indian Pacific or Great Southern

On board cabins

Gold Service cabins offer a comfortable retreat after a day of off-train activities, to relax and read or just gaze out the window as the vast Australian landscape passes you by. Gold Twin features a private ensuite and upper and lower sleeping berths that convert to a three-seater lounge by day. Gold Single features a bed that converts to a seat by day with shared toilet and shower facilities at the end of each carriage. Gold Superior cabins feature a ¾ size double bed plus an additional fold down upper berth, lounge area, TV and DVD player, mini-bar and ensuite. Gold Access cabins are also available and exclusively reserved for the mobility impaired.

The upgrade to Platinum Service may make all the difference during your journey beginning with a beautifully appointed spacious suite, full-size ensuite equipped with shower, vanity with cupboard space, toilet and complimentary Australian Appelles Apothecary toiletries. By day you’ll enjoy deluxe seating with a table and two ottomans and by night either a twin or double bed complete with luxurious linen and nightcap at turndown. The included Bollinger champagne and Haighs chocolates are an added extra special touch. Picture windows offer you views of the expansive landscape from both sides of the train so you don’t miss out on a thing. Should you so desire, you can also receive a freshly prepared continental breakfast upon request and refreshments served in-cabin.

The Queen Adelaide Restaurant is old world ambience blended with an all-inclusive mouth-watering seasonal menu prepared by on board chefs from hearty breakfasts, two-course lunches and three-course dinners. Meals are complemented by a selection of included wines and beverages with some dietary meals available by request at the time of booking.
